Your first visit
What to expect, from the front door to the ideas you leave with.
How long it takes
About an hour. Plan around a feed and a nap, and come a few minutes early to settle your baby.
What to wear and bring
Clothes you can move in. For your baby, an outfit that is easy to take off and put on, a bottle or snack, a spare outfit and diapers, and a favorite toy.
Who is in the room
You, your baby and Aubrey. Bring anyone who helps care for your baby, such as a partner or grandparent.
What happens
Aubrey asks about your week with your baby, watches them play on a mat and gently checks how they move. She explains what she sees, the choices and any risks, and you agree on a plan together.
What is not decided on day one
We do not promise how long care will take. Aubrey may ask you to see your pediatrician first if something needs checking.
What you take home
A few play ideas, shown on your baby and written down. With your OK, we send your pediatrician a short note.
A mat, a few toys and time to talk
The first visit is mostly watching your baby play and talking with Aubrey. Hands-on care and exercise start when you and Aubrey agree on them. If your baby needs a feed, a nap or a cuddle, the visit waits.
