Questions parents ask
If yours is not here, call or send a message. Kevin or Aubrey will answer.
Do I need a referral?
In Indiana you can start physical therapy without a referral. If you send a receipt to your plan, your plan may ask for one. We also ask you to tell your baby's pediatrician you are coming, and with your OK we send a short note.
Do you take my insurance or Medicare?
We do not bill Medicare or other plans. You pay for each visit yourself, and we give you a detailed receipt to send to your plan, which decides whether it reimburses you.
What if I pay myself?
That is how every visit works. We send you a written Good Faith Estimate before your first visit, and you pay on the day. How fees work explains each step.
How long is a visit, and who treats my baby?
The first visit is about an hour. Aubrey, a physical therapist, treats every visit herself, and you stay with your baby throughout. Kevin answers the phone and books your visit.
How many visits will we need?
That depends on what Aubrey sees, how your baby responds and how play at home goes. She talks it through with you at each visit, and tells you when to come back, change course or finish.
What should we wear and bring?
Clothes you can move in. For your baby, an outfit that is easy to take off and put on, a bottle or snack, a spare outfit and diapers, a favorite toy and the name of your pediatrician.
Will my baby cry?
Babies sometimes fuss, and that is fine. Aubrey slows down, stops for a feed or a cuddle, and tries again. You can stop whenever you like.
Do you offer video visits?
Some follow-ups can be by video, for families in Indiana, where Aubrey is licensed. The first visit is in person, so she can see how your baby moves.
May you take photos or video of my baby?
Not unless you say yes in writing. You can agree to one photo and say no to another, and you can change your mind at any time.
What if my baby needs a different kind of help?
Aubrey tells you plainly, helps you find the right person and, with your OK, writes to your pediatrician. Swallowing and feeding therapy, speech and occupational therapy are other specialties.
